Pre-trip fears

As we were children, our parents and older friends used to scare us picturing monsters as big, gargantuesque creatures who could sweep a town away with a sigle gesture of their gigantic arts. They were lying. More precisely, they were lying about their dimensions. REAL monsters, at least the ones that are keeping my brain busy all night long in these days, are EXTREMELY TINY. You got it, it's all about SPIDERS. If you think that my first thought about leaving within a couple of weeks is about organization or excitement or anything else you're wrong. I'm SCARED. If I think about my rucksack, I think about a freakin' nasty little evil spider INSIDE my harmless rucksack. Whenever I plan to book an hostel in a wonderful landscape I think about all the tiny bastards climbing up onto my bed during my innocent sleep. They're THERE. They're WAITING. For us.
Let me introduce to you a couple of these friends. Can you see the black one with the red stripe onto its back? It's called (for no apparent reason) "redback spider". Apparently it killed more people than Adolf Hitler did, and it can be found in every fuckin' single backyard in Sidney. Oh, let's talk about fatty: it's called "funnel web spider"; as biting you it gives no pain at all, but in a couple of hours you will see your skin going red and next morning you'll wake up with a rotting leg sleeping by your side. It's not fair, damn.
Will we make it through it?
